One of the first questions new residents ask us is simple: where should we eat? Over the years we've built a short list of places we're happy to put our name behind, and we call it Lowry-Vetted.
This isn't a scraped directory of every restaurant in town. It's a hand-picked set of spots we and our clients genuinely love, organized so you can find the right table for the occasion.
For a Waterside night out. When you want a proper evening at Waterside Place, we send people to Allswell for elevated comfort food and cocktails, Osteria 500 for handmade pasta and Neapolitan pizza, and Korê Steakhouse for tableside Korean barbecue that turns dinner into an event.
Coffee and a healthy bite. Kahwa Coffee on Market Street is our go-to for espresso and a quiet spot to talk through a home search, and 3Natives keeps things light with açaí bowls, smoothies, and made-to-order salads.
Something sweet. Kilwins at Waterside makes fudge and chocolates on site, and Big Olaf Creamery on Lakewood Main Street is a longtime local favorite for homemade ice cream after a stroll.
Stocking the kitchen. For cooking at home, Detwiler’s Farm Market is the place for fresh local produce and seafood, and Eatalia Market brings imported Italian specialties and prepared foods to Waterside.
That's just the dining shortlist. Our full guide is filterable and includes trusted home services, pet care, fitness, and more, each with hours, directions, and a little about why it made the list.

Have a favorite we should consider? There's a place to suggest it right on the guide page. We personally review every recommendation before it earns the Lowry-Vetted badge.
We keep this list honest for a simple reason: our clients ask. New residents want to know where locals actually go, not where the ad budget points them — and after enough years in these neighborhoods, you build a mental map of the places worth the drive.
That local fluency is part of what Sarah and Jackie bring to the real estate side, too. Fourteen years living and working across Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Venice means they can tell you not just what a home costs, but what it's like to actually live there — the commute, the sunset spots, the Saturday-morning routine. When you're ready to find your own corner of it, they'd love to help.
